About Us

Karunyashram is known for its healing touch as it firmly believes in the fundamentals of Ayurveda and naturopathy and applies it for the betterment of human being. Karunyashram is blessed with the divine gift of healing which it would like to utilize to provide health benefits to all individuals through its various therapeutic services like Panchakarma, Jala Chikithsa, Prithvi Chikithsa, Vayu Chikithsa etc.

It was in 2007 that Aranyashram was begun at Paithalmala. Mr. Manuel Kollichira (Kunjettan) was the architect of Aranyashram. He was a resident of Chemperi and there he served as a catechism teacher for several years. Later he moved with his family to Kariappilly and settled there. Aranyashram was opened in response to a vision and a message that Kunjetan received during a prayer meeting in Sangli (MST mission region of MST) in which Fr. Jose Kalarickal MST was also present.

In 2016, Aranyshram was handed over to The Missionary Society of St. Thomas the Apostle (MST) and it was renamed as Karunyashram. Today it has grown into a full-fledged Ayurvedic-naturopathic treatment centre, specialising in effective treatment for autism in children, psoriasis, asthma and allergies, lifestyle diseases. Kunjettan continues to serve as traditional Ayurvedic and Prakriti Chikitsa Vaidyan.

Diseases originates from imabalabace of these elements in the body. It has been serving the humanity from the time immemorial and still survives just because of its sheer therapeutic value. In the event of scientific findings have proved that Ayurveda and Naturopathic medicines cure the disease by strengthening the body immune system. Ayurvedic and Naturopathic remedie are now considered to be the most scientific approach towards health and wellbeing.

Wholistic health is considered as normal and harmonious vibration of elements and forces comprising of physical, mental, moral and spiritual planes of a human being. It is effected by living in conformity with its constructive principles of nature human living. Disease is considered as abnormal or inharmonious vibration of one or more elements and forces comprising of the human entity. This is in conformity with the destructive principles in nature.

Location & How to reach

Karunyashram is located on the western side of Paithalmala, one of the scenic destinations on the Western Ghats. Located 2000 feet above sea level, Karunyashram is surrounded by a natural setting with silent and serene atmosphere in the vicinity of forest with abundant sources of spring water from the hills, fresh air, and sounds of nature. The place is well connected by Air and Rail and road. Karunayshram is 45 kms away from Kannur International airport and 55 kms from Kannur Railway station. Bus services are available up to Kudianmala via Taliparamba or Sreekantapuram.
